On a Saudi project the standard is usually written into the bill of quantities before a supplier is chosen. A consultant who has specified SAS 1395 for buried sewerage, or NEMA TC 2 for underground electrical duct, is not comparing pipe on price until the submitted product matches the clause. Pipe that cannot evidence the specification does not reach the pricing stage at all.

Pressure Class and Wall Designation Reference

Class means different things in different standard families, which is a common source of specification error. Pressure class describes a pressure rating. Sewer class describes ring stiffness on a gravity line, not pressure.
